Senior User Experience Designer
Description
As a designer at Valve, you’ll be part of an extremely motivated, dedicated, and experienced group of people. You’ll be joining a team that is responsible for some of the most compelling computer entertainment experiences of the last decade. You will also contribute significantly to Steam, Valve’s pioneering gaming community and e-commerce platform.
At Valve, defining the user’s experience encompasses the entire process of designing a product–be it a game, an internal software tool, or a web application.
Specifically, you will:

Translate business and product-level requirements into feasible, compelling entertainment and e-commerce experiences.

Create conceptual wireframes, user flow diagrams, and low-fidelity prototypes for discussion and testing purposes.

Design high-fidelity mockups to solidify design direction and planning.

Create working prototypes for usability and proof-of-concept testing.

Produce finished shipping designs, finalizing layout, color, typography, images, and icons.

Get your hands dirty in HTML, CSS, Flash, and other similar tools.

Be a vigilant advocate for the user’s experience.

Take pride in and feel responsibility for a high degree of personal ownership of your work. Millions of people will immediately interact with your finished designs.

Not be pigeon-holed into conceptual or abstract work. Rich, high fidelity presentation will be expected as an end-result of your work.

Not live in a production-only ghetto. Your ideas will directly shape the experiences you create.

Be passionate about: Business. Writing. Typography. Games. Innovation. Craftsmanship. Fun.
